Safety
Safety is the promise the aviation industry makes to the billions of people who fly annually. IATA is committed to a consistent improvement in safety. The Six-point Safety Programme reflects the strategic direction adopted by IATA to ensure that safety goals are met.
Security
The focus of security is to prevent voluntary harmful acts and acts of unlawful interference. IATA’s main objective in security is to ensure that international security requirements are mutually accepted between States. IATA strives for the implementation of effective and cost efficient measures based on threat assessment and specific operational environments. Security measures aim to prevent acts of unlawful interference and therefore minimise the negative impact on passenger and cargo flows.
Facilitation
Facilitation focuses on reducing unnecessary regulation and improving customs and immigration procedures to expedite the movement of people and goods across international borders. Acceptance of internationally recognised facilitation standards and recommended practices is a great contributor in stimulating the global economy as it facilitates international trade.
